Dear Dr. Loredo and Tumor Board Members,
My Mother, Kathy Wilson, was diagnosed with Ocular Melanoma
over two weeks ago and we are very
hopeful that your board will agree to treat her with the Proton Therapy as
soon as possible.
We are realizing one of the hardest things about having cancer
is the anxiety caused by the uncertainty
and waiting involved with treatment.
She has seen doctors at John Wayne Cancer Institute and they
won't treat the Lungs (she is scheduled for a
PET scan today as there are nodules on her right lung) until the eye has been
treated.
If you would like to refer her to an Oncologist at Loma Linda
with the possibility of treating the nodules
in the lung as well please let us know. We are open to any clinical trials
and would love to have the
opportunity to try some combination of Chemotherapy.
She is so excited about the Proton Therapy you offer that she
left Michigan and is staying in
Los Angeles until she is completely free of cancer. We know the odds but my
mother is young
and healthy and is going to beat this. We just need the right doctors with
the right aggressive
treatment plan. Thank you so much for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Lisa Wilson in regards to Kathy Wilson
